Alec J. Hanna
Founder
After a decade in politics, Alec founded Dark Horse Campaigns in 2022 with one simple philosophy: deliver results. He believed that too many political consultants focus on business development first, treating results as an afterthought—an approach he always considered backward.
Before starting Dark Horse Campaigns, Alec worked on numerous political campaigns throughout the country, including three presidential campaigns. Some of his work includes:
Wisconsin - Alec got his start in politics working for two Republican titans of Wisconsin politics, Governor Tommy Thompson and Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner. He was then fortunate enough to land a job with Governor Scott Walker and spent the better part of four years working for him. During the 2020 cycle, he managed Congressman Glenn Grothman’s campaign leading to the highest percent victory he had ever received.
Colorado - Most recently, Alec led the communications team for the Colorado House Republicans during the 2023 special session and the 2024 legislative session. He also ran Deborah Flora’s campaign for U.S. Senate in 2022.
Illinois - Alec was able to return to his native state in 2017 to lead the advance operation for Governor Bruce Rauner’s official office for nearly a year.
